I am off to NYC today for NYFW! I am so excited to be back in the city and I can’t hardly believe this is my seventh NYFW. I had such a blast putting together all my looks this year and I can’t wait to share them with you. Today I am wearing the most gorgeous monochromatic look that is perfect to transition into Fall with. I have always loved a good leather mini. I have tried numerous black styles, but THIS beautiful oxblood skirt from Express had me at hello. The color is well gorgeous, and the fit is super chic. I love that it has pockets and the sash at the waist. I paired it with a coordinating ruffle blouse. The subtle print on this top is the perfect touch to my look.

When styling a monochromatic look, the trick is to mix different shades of the same color. I also love to mix textures, like leather and cotton. A couple textures I have paired in the past on the blog are wool and sequins and suede and silk. This helps add visual interest to your look. Keep the lighter colors where you want the focus to be too!
