Dining Room Christmas Decor + a Christmas Tree Ribbon Tutorial

Happy Sunday Everyone! Today I am sharing my Dining Room decor and a tutorial on how I do my ribbon on my trees! If you have followed me for awhile, you know my family LOVES decorating. I completely re-did my dining room this year and wanted to share with y’all. I didn’t plan on doing a tree in this room, but we had a flocked tree that I bought after Christmas last year and Olivia loved helping me with our big tree, I decided to throw this one together. This size of tree was much easier for her to help with too 🙂

Now for the ribbon.  I ALWAYS do ribbon last. This may seem odd, but I like to get all my ornaments up an then fill the holes with ribbon.

Christmas Tree Ribbon Tutorial

Step 1- Cut ribbon in 15-18 inch pieces. You can cut the ends an an angle or cut 1/2 a triangle out to give it two tips. You can also cut 8-10 inch pieces and just pinch the center, instead of creating a loop)

Step 2- Fold ribbon in half. Now here you can get creative. You can fold it in equal halves or a little less on one end. This will create tails to bend and tuck into your tree.

Step 3- Use your tree limbs to secure the ribbon. Simply wrap the branch around the pinched loops.

Step 4- Fluffy the loop and tuck the ends into the tree and around the ornaments. I like for the ribbon to look like its part of the tree, not sticking out.

A couple tips.

1. Wired ribbon works the best. You can use non wired ribbon, but it will not bend and fluff as well.

2. Add ribbon, and keep going. It may look a bit crazy at first, but once you are done, you will love it.

3. Use two different types of ribbon. On the tree above I used a wired grey ribbon and faux fur ribbon. It adds more texture to your tree.
